_a blog list_ è nata nel marzo 2007 per elencare i migliori blog (solamente blog, ed aggiornati almeno 2-3 volte la settimana) che trattano i temi del design, della grafica, della moda, del marketing e delle nuove tecnologie. In oltre un anno la lista ha guadagnato enorme visibilità, ed è stata visitata da migliaia di lettori che gli riconoscono una ricchezza e un’obbiettività difficile da trovare altrove.

Gli aggiornamenti avvengono in maniera irregolare: questa è la quarta versione, aggiornata a maggio 2008 grazie al contributo di Fubiz, un fantastico blog francese con cui sono in contatto da molto tempo. In fondo alla lista sono spiegati con precisione i criteri di selezione.

_a blog list_ was born in March 2007 with the aim to gather and list the best blogs (only blogs updated at least 2-3 times a week) concerning the following themes: design, graphics, fashion, marketing and new technologies. After more than a year, the list has gained tremendous visibility and has been visited by thousands of readers who appreciated its richness of contents and objectiveness, which are so rare in this field.

The site has been updated on an irregular basis: this is the fourth version and it was updated in May 2008 thanks to the contribution of Fubiz, a great French blog I have been in contact with for a long time. At the bottom of the list you can find the detailed explanation of the selection criteria.

Ho cercato di creare un elenco il più completo possibile di blog italiani e stranieri vicini a quelli che sono gli interessi miei e dei lettori di ELMANCO. Negli ultimi quattro anni il numero dei blog che parlano di “nuove tendenze” è esploso, assumendo, da fenomeno principalmente americano, una scala mondiale. Oramai è impossibile per chiunque seguire tutti gli aggiornamenti che si desidererebbero e la mia selezione potrebbe addirittura complicarti le cose, perché molto ampia ed orizzontale.

_a blog list_ non stabilisce delle priorità, mischiando all’interno della stessa categoria, blog da 10.000 visite giornaliere con altri da poche centinaia. D’altro canto, questa scelta favorisce una certa democrazia ed invita a scoprire nuove fonti di ispirazione che possono metterti piacevolmente in difficoltà nella scelta dei blog da seguire.

I blog sono divisi in 6 macrocategorie, che ritengo abbastanza efficaci:

I have tried to create a complete list of Italian and foreign blogs whose interests overlap mine and those of ELMANCO readers. In the last four years the number of blogs which talk about “new trends” has boomed, developing from a mainly American phenomenon into a global trend. Nowadays, it isn’t possible to follow every single update and my choice could make things even harder, since it is very wide and horizontal.

By placing in the same category both blogs which receive 10.000 visitors a day and blogs with only a few hundred hits a day, _a blog list_ doesn’t establish any priority. Besides, this choice in a way supports democracy and encourages the discovery of new sources of inspiration, thus making your choice pleasantly harder.

The blogs are divided into 6 macro categories which I find quite effective:

D di Disegno industriale, architettura, arredo e gadget.

G di Graphic design, fotografia, illustrazione, ed arti visive in genere.

F di Fashion, moda, t-shirt, sneakers ed accessori (tutto quello che può essere indossato).

A di Advertising e marketing sebbene, non essendo un poliglotta, abbia dato la precedenza ai blog che parlano soprattutto per immagini.

T di Technology per i blog che si concentrano su prodotti e servizi particolarmente innovativi dal punto di vista tecnologico.

X di mix. Numerosi blog non possono essere rappresentati da una sola delle precedenti categorie, perché i loro contenuti sono molto più vari. Questa categoria è per i blog che intersecano almeno 3 di quelle precedenti.

All’interno delle prime 5 categorie esistono altre sotto-categorie, formate da blog i cui contenuti appartengono anche ad un’altra categoria. Le due lettere alla sinistra dell’indirizzo di ogni blog rappresentano invece la lingua in cui il blog è scritto, e non la nazionalità dell’autore. La scritta “New” dopo il titolo del blog, indica che si tratta di un’aggiunta recente alla lista, non necessariamente che il blog sia stato inaugurato da poco.

I criteri nella scelta dei siti sono stati i seguenti:

- possedere una struttura a blog, vale a dire un elenco in ordine cronologico di articoli commentabili.

- essere aggiornati con una certa regolarità (almeno 2-3 volte la settimana), escluse pochissime eccezioni.

- non avere nessun vincolo di linguaggio, anche se inevitabilmente la maggioranza dei blog è scritta in inglese e italiano.

- gli argomenti trattati sono quelli di cui sopra, ma sulla qualità ho cercato di essere abbastanza elastico e non vincolarmi a gusti che possono ritenersi soggettivi.

- blog e solamente blog! Ho voluto puntare sulla “specialità della casa” per non invischiarmi in un lavoro infinito.

Esistono altri stupendi magazine, portali e social network che pubblicano contenuti del genere, ma questa volta mi sono concentrato esclusivamente sui blog.

X of Mix. Several blogs don't belong to a single category, since their contents are more miscellaneous. This category is dedicated to blogs which fall into at least 3 of the previous categories.

Within the first 5 categories there are other subcategories gathering blogs whose contents also belong to another category. The two letters displayed on the left of the web address of each blog identify the language in which the blog is written, not the nationality of the author. The word “New“ next to the blog title means that it’s a new entry on the list; it doesn’t necessarily indicate a newly launched blog.

Here are the criteria used for the selection of the websites:

- having a “blog structure”, that is to say a chronological list of the articles which can be commented on;

- being updated on a regular basis (at least 2-3 times a week), with very few exceptions;

- not having any language barriers or restrictions, even though most blogs are written in English and in Italian;

- dealing with the above mentioned topics. With respect to quality, I have tried to be as elastic and objective as I could;

- blogs and only blogs! My aim was to focus on the “specialty of the house”, in order to avoid an endless amount of work. There are other amazing magazines, web portals and social networks which offer similar contents, but this time I have focused exclusively on blogs.
